OTTER 1

  • Entry into shallow water, unassisted
  • Exit out of shallow water, unassisted
  • Jump into chest-deep water, unassisted
  • Jump into deep water with PFD and exit, unassisted
  • Tread water 30 sec wearing PFD
  • Submerge and exhale underwater for 5 sec, 5 times
  • Open eyes underwater, unassisted
  • Front float for 5 sec, unassisted
  • Back float for 5 sec, unassisted
  • Front glide 5-7m, unassisted
  • Back glide 5-7m, unassisted
  • Flutter kick on front 7m, w/ kickboard
  • Flutter kick on back 7m, w/ kickboard
  • Front crawl 5m with PFD
  • Review safety around the pool environment, importance of wearing a lifejacket and swimming with a buddy

PUPS 1

  • Entry into shallow water, assisted
  • Exit out of shallow water, assisted
  • Jump into chest-deep water with PFD, assisted
  • Jump into chest-deep water, assisted
  • Face in the water
  • Blow bubbles in the water
  • Open eyes underwater, assisted
  • Front float for 3 sec, assisted
  • Back float for 3 sec, assisted
  • Front glide 3m, assisted
  • Back glide 3m, assisted
  • Front kick with PFD, assisted
  • Back kick with PFD, assisted
  • Review safety around the pool environment, importance of wearing a lifejacket, and swimming within arms’ reach of a parent/guardian

PUPS 2

  • Entry into shallow water with PFD
  • Exit out of shallow water, with PFD
  • Safe movement in water, with PFD
  • Jump into chest-deep water, unassisted
  • Submerge head underwater for 3 sec
  • Exhale underwater for 3 sec
  • Open eyes underwater, unassisted
  • Front float for 5 sec, unassisted
  • Back float for 5 sec, unassisted
  • Front glide 5-7m, unassisted
  • Back glide 5-7m, unassisted
  • Flutter kick on front 5m, w/kickboard
  • Flutter kick on back 5m, w/kickboard
  • Front crawl arms, standing

OTTER 2

  • Jump into deep water, return and exit, unassisted
  • Tread water 15 sec
  • Recover object from the bottom in chest-deep water
  • Wear PFD and swim/kick 15m
  • Sculling on back 5m
  • Front glide to side glide alternating sides with kickboard 10m
  • Flutter kick on front 15m, w/kickboard
  • Flutter kick on back 15m, w/kickboard
  • Flutter kick on side 5m, w/kickboard
  • Front crawl arms 10m, w/kickboard
  • Front crawl 5m
  • Back crawl 5m

  • Front crawl 150m
  • Back crawl 150m

  • 300m workout
    • 50m warm-up (choice)
    • 4 x 25m front crawl w/15s rest
    • 4 x 25m back crawl w/15s rest

PROGRAMS

Parent + Tot    (6 mos - 3 yrs)

These lessons must be accompanied by a parent(s)/guardian(s) and are guided by an experienced instructor for a fun, learning experience. These classes give an early headstart to children with the support of their parent/guardian by their side and get them comfortable in the water. An ideal class for setting the right foundation.
